Cagayan de Oro College was the first school in Northern Mindanao to offer degree courses in engineering. The COC College of Engineering has produced engineers and architects who have distinguished themselves through the years in the Philippines and abroad.
Academic Programs Offered:
- Bachelor of Science in Architecture - This five-year course prepares students for careers as architects, draftsmen, and project construction managers. Graduates of Architecture at COC have been employed or engaged by major construction, building, and design firms in the Philippines, Australia, Canada, the Middle East, New Zealand, and several other countries.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering - Graduates of this five-year course have the options of becoming planning, structural, geo-technical, transportation or water resource engineers. Many graduates of civil engineering at COC have become project managers responsible for overseeing various facets of construction. The COC civil engineering curriculum offers modules unique to COC in plumbing, computer applications, and advanced structural design.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering - This five-year course prepares students for professional Computer Engineering careers including leading roles in the design, analysis and applications of computing structures that involve hardware, software or both. Career options for COC Computer Engineering graduates include possible stints in the Philippines and abroad as: systems engineers, data communications engineers, network managers, or project managers.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science - This four year-course produces graduates that are prepared to take on leading roles in the design and development of computer applications and computing solutions. Computer Science graduates at COC can pursue careers as applications or system developers, database programmers, researchers, or computer science instructors.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering - Graduates of this five-year course specialize in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of electrical power generation or transmission facilities and structures. COC’s Electrical Engineering facilities are among the best in Mindanao. COC Electrical Engineering graduates are found in public and private power utility service organizations as plants designers, construction contractors, power plant managers or as consultants.
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology - The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology is one of Cagayan de Oro College’s newest degree programs. This four-year program develops IT professionals who can conceptualize, build, and maintain information technology infrastructure. The IT curriculum focuses on building student competencies in computer animation, graphic design, and web development.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering - Mechanical Engineering is a five-year course that prepares students for highly technical careers in the manufacturing, automotive, power generation, and other industries requiring competencies in the design, production, operation, and maintenance of machines. Mechanical Engineering graduates can pursue careers in manufacturing firms, automotive companies, and utility plants.
